• Higher divorce and poverty rates
• The lure of gangs for social acceptance
• Media influences that are increasingly violent & sexual, undermining parental influence, accessible 24 hours a day

an opportunity
Parishes want to reach youth, but are struggling to meet their needs. The Catholic Bishops call us to minister to teens and teach the faith, to include teens in our faith communities, sharing the gospel, and changing lives—ministry that extends beyond preparation for Confirmation.
Pastors want to help, but are stretched too thin. The laity are called to share in the mission by offering their time, talent and treasure to build comprehensive youth ministry programs. The lives and eternities of our youth are at stake.
